Empty the attic & help decorate the Museum for the holidays

with No Comments

In the blink of an eye, the holidays will soon be here! And we at the Great Barrington Historical Society want our Museum to be THE place to visit during the holiday season.

Kids are gone and you don’t use as many Christmas decorations? Well . . .don’t throw them out! Please consider donating your items in good condition to the Historical Society. Manufactured or hand-made, here’s what we’re looking for:

Vintage Santa’s

50’s and 60’s plastic tabletop items

50’s Ice-Glo and bubble lights and boxes (even their empty boxes)

An artificial pine garland

Artificial fireplace logs

And  . . . a Dept 56 or Lemax Christmas Village buildings and accessories

Also consider items you would loan on a short-term basis for our display. We’d especially like an original Woolworth’s ornament box (empty is also OK) and Christmas fences.

It may seem like summer just ended, but the holidays are right around the corner! Join with others to share the joy of the season. Drop items off at the GBHS Museum at 817 South Main Street (Route 7), now through December 1st, Monday through Thursday mornings from 8:30 am to noon, or Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to 2pm.
