Empty the attic & help decorate the Museum for the holidays

with No Comments

In the blink of an eye, the holidays will soon be here!

Does this look like your attic? Kids are gone and you don’t use as many decorations? Well . . .don’t throw them out! Please consider donating your items in good condition to the Historical Society. Manufactured or hand-made, here’s a list of what we’re looking for:

For the tree: vintage glass ornaments and icicles, lights. No artificial trees, please.

For the porch: garlands, wreaths, lights

For the rooms: vintage decorations, houses

Also consider items you would loan on a short-term basis for our display. We will be telling the story of the history of the Christmas tree and would love to include your items– and especially an aluminum tree and rotating light from the 50’s.

It may seem like summer just ended, but the holidays are right around the corner! Join with others to share the joy of the season. Drop items off at the GBHS Museum at 817 South Main Street (Route 7), now through December 1st, Monday through Thursday mornings from 8:30 am to noon or Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to 2pm.
